Founder

Jeffrey Billings

Jeffrey is passionate about building community through facilitating connections. He has spent a dozen years living in a variety of intentional communities, including ecovillages, monasteries, yoga ashrams, retreat centers, and communal houses, as well as visiting and studying many others.

He also works for the Parker Street Foundation, which develops and finances cohousing communities, low-income apartments, cooperatives, and communal houses in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he coordinated the creation and development of a retrofit cohousing community in Oakland, California.

Jeffrey has been a practitioner and teacher of nonviolent communication (NVC) for more than 20 years and has led classes and facilitated practice groups. He is trained in the Mediate Your Life method of conflict mediation and coaching; restorative circles for transforming conflict within groups; the ZEGG Forum for building transparency and trust in groups; heart circle processes; and authentic relating methods, including T-group and circling. He has been a member of the ManKind Project men’s group for 24 years and has maintained a dedicated yoga and meditation practice for 25 years.

Jeffrey’s previous career was in the field of international development and public health, where he worked for several nonprofits planning, managing and evaluating projects in Africa and Southeast Asia, delivering health care and family planning services to marginalized communities.
